My husband and I recently spent the weekend in Florida - not only did we enjoy the beautiful white sand and palm trees, we also had some AMAZING food! If you're in the area, check out these awesome spots:
The BFF - The Great Southern Cafe - Seaside, FL
A frozen concoction of bourbon, Irish cream, banana coconut milk and vanilla ice cream? YES PLEASE! (Side note - this restaurant tied for my favorite in 30A - a MUST VISIT!)
Volcano Shrimp - Shades Bar & Grill - Inlet Beach, FL
Full disclosure - I had a tough time choosing the best appetizer, because I happen to LOVE appetizers. In the end, my husband & I agreed on this one. The shrimp was perfectly fried then smothered in a spicy sweet sauce. GET IN MY BELLY!
George's Famous Shrimp Plate - George's at Alys Beach - Alys Beach, FL
SHUT. UP. Quit possibly the best shrimp I've ever put in my mouth. You can choose grilled or fried - I'm working on my bikini bod, so I went for fried. *wink wink* Hush puppies were perfection, and the grits were slap yo mama good. To be honest, everything here was good - it was one of my 2 favorites in 30A. Highly Recommend!
Beignet Fries with Caramel Sauce - Shunk Gulley Oyster Bar - Santa Rosa Beach, FL
You know that crispy outer shell on a beignet that is just TO DIE FOR? These people have gone and made some FRENCH FRIES out of beignets. Covered in powdered sugar. With a side of caramel sauce for dipping. I'm a little ashamed to say that I ate the entire batch by myself.
What do you think? Do you see some of your favorites listed? Did I miss a few? Let me know!
