For all of you Chip & Jo, Magnolia loving friends, today's post is just for you - courtesy of one of my besties, Hannah White! Tips for a long weekend in Waco, Texas:
DON'T MISS LIST
The Silos - The Silos host various events by Magnolia throughout the year. You'll find shops, an outdoor stage, a huge lush lawn & games. Keep in mind, they only have food trucks at the silos so if you want an sit down meal in doors, you'll have to go somewhere else.
Magnolia Table - breakfast & lunch - breakfast served all day long. No reservations. You can order food to go & pick it up at Take Away.
Magnolia - Little Shop on Boque - Jo's first store with the original sign. Most everything in here was 30-60% off.
Harp Design Co - her carpenter's shop
Diamondbacks - Not Chip & Jo, but don't miss this awesome restaurant/steakhouse. Their bread is called popovers, made in a cast iron skillet and hollow on the inside, literally to die for! $$$
HOW MANY DAYS DO I NEED TO ALLOT FOR THIS TRIP?
You can do everything in 2 days if you're only wanting to see Magnolia things. If you have a long drive, allot 4 days = 1 day to travel, 2 days to explore, and 1 day traveling home.
DRIVE OR FLY?
It is such an easy drive from Alabama - all interstate (I-20) except the last 2 hours. If you fly, keep in mind you'll be flying into Dallas & will need to rent a car to drive 1.5 hours after getting off the plane.
HELPFUL TIPS
Be cautious when staying at a home featured on "Fixer Upper", as many are located in less than desirable areas.
Stop at the coffee shop first - they will give you a passport. Once you get all of your places stamped, they give you a pin at the bakery that they don’t sell anywhere.
Most of the shops give you the option to ship home (except Jo's original little shop)
